How GPS Fleet Tracking Works – A Brief Review

Image
There are two primary technologies when it comes to figuring out how GPS fleet tracking works. The first is GPS, which stands for Global Positioning System. This technology is contains a network of satellites that orbit the earth, hundreds and thousands of GPS receivers here on earth, and a basic mathematical maxim named trilateration.  Through trilateration, any GPS receiver on the earth can locate its estimated location with signals from 3 unique satellites. It accomplishes this by deducing its distance from these satellites and calculating the only spot where all three signals may have come together. The process is called GPS in GPS tracking for fleet . This is how all GPS devices work. What gives GPS Fleet tracking its tracking element?  To ask this question in a different way - How does a GPS device communicate the position information that it finds from the satellites, to those that want to know where the device is located? The answer to these questions is GSM, or the Global Syst
